About the Position Position is primarily responsible for providing leadership and direction for the Goodwin House Bailey's Crossroads Social Work department, ensuring that state and federal regulations are met, establishing social work polices, practices, and goals, and ensuring a full range of social work services are provided to residents and their families.
Job Duties Position is primarily responsible for providing leadership and direction for the Goodwin House Bailey's Crossroads Social Work department, ensuring that state and federal regulations are met, establishing social work polices, practices, and goals, and ensuring a full range of social work services are provided to residents and their families.
Offers direct social work interventions to residents and their families and provides appropriate measures for helping residents in their personal adjustment, providing emotional and social support, and accessing the appropriate resources.
Participates in the development and implementation of resident care policies as related to psychosocial aspects of resident care issues.
Coordinates services to residents with medical, nursing, and other appropriate staff as required by regulatory agencies.
Provides support groups for residents, family members, and the local community, when appropriate.
Serves as Social Worker for residents and their families, providing a full range of social work interventions that comply with Goodwin House and Virginia Department of Social Services and Department of Health regulations.
Interviews potential applicants, completes social history and other assessments as appropriate and makes recommendations for admission for residential living.
Serves on the Sales Admissions Committee.
Qualifications Must possess a graduate degree in social work from an accredited university.
Must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Must have at least five (5) years'experience in social work with at least one (1) year in work with the geriatric population.
Three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.
Must possess ability to deal tactfully and effectively with residents, staff, family members and the public.
