Junior Electrical Engineer

WASHINGTON DC The following description outlines the objectives, needs, and requirements for the position of the Junior Electrical Engineer at OCI Associates, Inc.
The position is available at our Falls Church, Washington DC office.
? JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ? The Junior Electrical Engineer at OCI Associates will have continuous involvement throughout their career with building systems including electrical distribution emergency/standby power, interior and exterior lighting, code compliance surveys, fire alarm and lift safety, communications, security, and energy conservation.
? The Junior Electrical Engineer will be proficient in preparing one-line diagrams, performing fault current studies to implement proper AIC ratings, coordination studies and Arc-Flash analysis.
? Be responsible to prepare calculations for electrical loads and panel schedules.
? ? The Junior Electrical Engineer will have thorough knowledge of NEC, NFPA 72, NFPA 101 and other codes and editing electrical specifications.
? General knowledge of lighting, photometrics, lighting controls and understanding of emergency and normal power systems.
? Experience in conductor sizing with applying voltage drop calculations.
? Familiarity and demonstrated knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.
? Technical experience in preparing site survey plans consisting of cable plant drawings, computer room layouts, and rack elevation diagrams.
? Experience in coordinating with mechanical equipment schedules and project management to include Construction Administration work such as answering RFI?s and reviewing submittals.
? Ability to coordinate with other disciplines and architects.
? Prepares relevant documentation to include meeting minutes, weekly status reports, and punch lists.
? Experience with AutoCAD and Revit as well as Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook are required.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS ? BS Architectural Engineering, or BS Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree ? Registered PE is beneficial, EI is required.
? 5
years of experience in electrical design? ? Experience with AGI for lighting photometrics ? Proficient with AutoCAD and experience with REVIT ? Experience with SKM Power Tools or similar software for Fault Current Studies, Coordination Studies & Arc Fault Studies CHARACTERISTICS ? Strong knowledge of Electrical design and applicable codes.
? Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
? Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines and customers.
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
