Job DescriptionRegistered Nurse Trauma Registrar for Fairfax Hospital Level 1 Trauma divisionWe are looking for an RN with 2-4 years of related clinical experienceThis is a full time M-F opportunity based at Fairfax HospitalRequires strong trauma background, with ICU experience preferredManages trauma registry database to support the department, hospital, and state requirementsResponsible for data abstraction of trauma patient records into our outside softwareEnsures that the data quality meets current department data analysis standards, state requirements, and national database requirements-data is sent to both state and national benchmarking sitesParticipates in the quality improvement process related to PI, injury prevention, and research programsMonitors and coordinate TQIP compliance, in collaboration with PI Coordinator and Trauma Directorwork in Epic and TraumaBaseMust be eligible to practice nursing in Virginia with current BLS certificationInova Fairfax Hospital is proud to announce that the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) awarded Magnet designation, the most prestigious accolade for nursing excellence, to our hospital in December 2020.

Evidence of clinical experience with trauma patients.
Education.
Requires BSN.
Preferred-Additional education in information technology, business, or related field.
Training.
Computer software training.
Preferred:
Database management training.
Certification BLS Licensure:
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Special Skills Word processing and use of SPSS, basic statistics Familiarity with medical terminology.
Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Access and word processing.
SPSS and basic statistics knowledge.
Typing speed 65 wpm.
Preferred:
Specialized healthcare database applications experience.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
