## Job Description_Med Lab Scientist - Medical Technologist 2_Inova Laboratories is the only locally based, full service laboratory in Northern Virginia, offering hospital quality and same-day results for many tests.

Our Inova Falls Church locationis seeking aPart-Time, Medical Technologist 2, Evenings and Rotating Weekends#-LI-RH2 IND6 Some of the duties include:
Ensures quality specimens for laboratory testing by recognizing pre-analytical factors that adversely affect patient results.
Operates systems/methodologies in order to produce timely and accurate data for patients, QC, and proficiency testing.
Reports clinical data accurately and efficiently.
Participates in departmental development by demonstrating operational knowledge and adhering to regulatory municates effectively and works cooperatively with team members to optimize job performance and foster working relationships.
Participates in professional growth opportunities to enhance personal, team, and departmental developmentHours are based on department needs.

Experience:
Preferred:
One year in an accredited laboratory under the supervision of a pathologist certified by the American Board of Pathology.
Education:
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university in clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Histo/Cyto Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or Physical Science.
Must have one of the following Certification:
MT(ASCP), BB(ASCP), C(ASCP), H(ASCP), or (ASCP) or AMT Technologist CertificationLaboratory Technologist Certification (HEW)Medical Laboratory Scientist MLS or equivalentTraining:
Clinical Laboratory Science training commensurate with ASCP requirements for examination eligibility.
