RESPONSBILITIES:
o Manages clinical and non-clinical staff, including day-to-day supervision,
employee
relations, and staff development.
o Serves as primary liaison and information resource for unit.
o Oversees the provision of therapeutic care in a holistic, evidence-based environment which produces excellent patient care with optimal patient outcomes.
o Utilizes the quality process and best practices to improve clinical operation of the unit.
o Supports Inova's mission and strategic plans.
o Provides input to budget development and attainment of fiscal goals.
o Ensures unit compliance with quality, safety, regulatory requirements and JCAHO standards.

REQUIRMENTS:
o Two years of clinical experience related to the unit's scope required; previous first line management experience preferred.
o Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient
computer
skills, proven leadership skills and be highly effective at leading a team and fostering a team environment.
o Must demonstrate professionalism, be customer-focused, have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain partnerships.
o Must have strong problem-solving capabilities, be able to effectively prioritize, to serve as a mentor and resource to other RNs.
LICENSING/CERTICIATION REQUIRMENTS:
o Specialty certification in area related to unit's clinical scope required at time of hire or within six months of hire.
o Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of
virginia
as a Registered Nurse.
o BLS certification required.
EDUCATION REQUIRMENTS:
o Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
o Masters degree in Nursing (MSN) or evidence of pursuing on a continuing basis preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
