ASD is seeking an Electronics/ Electro-mechanical /Design Engineer to join our teamThis position provides an opportunity to join an expanding team that will continue to develop/expand systems that supports multiple existing government customersWe work closely with our customer to ensure that we continue to provide the updated services needed as they expand their own work and offerings to a growing list of other government organizationsThe candidate Engineer will work within established multi-disciplinary Agile teams to build and further advance systems and applicationsKey
Responsibilities:
Analyze customer requirements and/or problems, determine solutions, work with the team to design and implement solution.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain existing equipment--both off-the-shelf and custom built.
Integrate peripherals such as RFID and barcode readers into PC based systems.
Research technologies for usefulness within our current and proposed systems.
Design, prototype, build, and deploy circuits and systems for our customersWork with the team to ensure that the items are properly integrated into the intended system, well documented, and maintainable by the target staff (specialist or user depending on the item)Basic
Qualifications:
At least three years of experience designing and building circuit boards, trouble-shooting electrical and electronic equipment, and maintaining electrical and electronic equipmentThe candidate must be comfortable working with the full spectrum of devices:
from individual components through field programmable gate arrays through fully integrated systemsProduction-level experience with various CAD tools and LabVIEWAt least some familiarity with both.
NET and Java programming environmentsIn addition to the technical skills and experience, the candidate must be a good team player, be an effective trouble-shooter and problem solver, and have good communications skillsFamiliarity with using MS Office is a necessaryThe candidate must successfully complete a Public Trust background investigationAdditional (Desired)
Qualifications:
Production level experience with low-level programming, e.
g.
, micro-controllers.
Experience with simple robotics, e.

, fixed arm movements.
Experience with control of laser systems for card or part marking.
