GDIT has an opening for a Network Engineer position supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) in Chantilly, VA.
This is an IT Service Management contract in support of the operation, modernization, expansion, and further evolution of the ARNG's global Information Technology (IT) services including networking, compute, storage, infrastructure, applications, hosting, and program management services.
The GECOS program supports the ARNG enterprise IT infrastructure, its Wide Area Network (WAN), authentication and directory services, cybersecurity, application hosting, and associated services.
GECOS uses ITIL best practices framework as the basis for IT Service Management (ITSM) model.
The Network Engineer will:
Responsible for engineering and architecture activities to support Enterprise IT Services and Support for WAN, LAN, and Security.
Review, improve, and modernize infrastructure to meet new requirements or refresh aging equipment and technologies.
Assess performance issues, determine root cause, and implement corrective action along with enhancements.
Provide Tier 3/4 engineering support to monitoring of WAN links and network systems and maintaining the policies within:
the Joint 802.
1x PlatformDevices in the Joint AAA Platform (eg, B/P/C/S switches)Operating scopes on the Joint DHCP platform for Theater Level VPN VRF instances, and on the Joint DHCP platform for user COI-level VRF instancesSupporting and managing:
Router and Server VRFs, Core-ACS/IDS, EAS, JB-CE routers, RBAC, base firewall, Client RA VPN, DOD enterprise initiatives such as the JRSS, and WCF.
Supervises and provides technical assistance to junior-level staff, as necessary.

Experience:
Minimum 5 years IT relevant experience and 5 years network operations experienceExperience managing Routers, Firewalls, IDS/IPS configurations and policiesCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNP)Possess the appropriate baseline certifications to achieve DoD 8570.
01-M InformationAssurance Technical (IAT) Level II (CompTIA Security
or higher)An active SECRET DoD clearance#GECOS.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
